Is it sin?

Anyone who resists the notion of women preachers is functioning as a tool of the devil...'It's one thing to be wrong, but that isn't wrong, that's sinful. The Bible says, 'neglect not the gift that is in you,' and when women are gifted with the gift of preaching, anybody who frustrates that gift is an instrument of the devil,' Campolo said.-Tony Campolo,
What do you think?

  1. We have a duty to love one another. In Romans 13:8 we are told not to owe anything other than to love one another. Since we owe love to the other members of the body, we should not grieve the Holy Spirit by harming one another by our words.

Eph 4:29 Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification according to the need of the moment, so that it will give grace to those who hear.
Eph 4:30 Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

The one who stops his sister in Christ from using the gifts that the Holy Spirit has given her has not met his obligation to love and edify her and he is stands in the way of the Holy Spirit, thus grieving Him. I would think that grieving the Holy Spirit would be a sin.
